Our Services

We offer a range of services to help you achieve health in all aspects of your life, including virtual consultations.

Benefits of online virtual consultations

You can conveniently attend your consultation wherever you are, whether you’re at home, out and about, or working in your office, all you require is your phone, iPad or computer.

The comfort of knowing you don’t have to wait in consultation rooms for extended periods of time, therefore your time is used effectively, potentially making you more productive.

If you are unwell and worried about being contagious staying at home ensures that you won’t potentially infect others, and maximises rest time.

Consultations with young children can sometimes be stressful for the parent and child. Virtual consultations remove this stressor for parents by allowing the children to remain in their own environment allowing the parent to be free to consult with the practitioner.

There are no location boundaries, traffic, parking, or waiting for the bus. With online virtual consultations, you don’t have to worry about any of it.

Consultation fees are kept at a minimum due to low overheads. To schedule an appointment, click here.

Naturopathy

What is Naturopathic Medicine?

Naturopathic medicine blends centuries-old effective natural therapies with current advances in the study of health and wellbeing Naturopathy covers all aspects of family health from prenatal to geriatric care.

Naturopathic medicine concentrates on whole patient wellness. Kristy will be sure to take a detailed case history to ensure the prescribed medicine is tailored specific to your condition(s) and emphasizes prevention and self-care.

The wholistic health approach looks for the underlying causes of this imbalance as well as treating the symptoms. It is important to note symptom relief is an important treatment goal, however supporting the body, as a whole to wellness is also a must.

The type of naturopathic medicines Kristy might prescribe could include dietary changes and supplements (see clinical nutrition for more information), Herbal medicines, homeopathy and Bach flower essences.

What is herbal medicine?

Herbal medicine, sometimes referred to as Herbalism or Botanical medicine, is the use of plants, in a wide variety of forms, for their therapeutic value. Herbs produce and contain a variety of chemical compounds that act upon the body and are used to prevent or treat disease or promote health and well-being.

Homeopathy

Homeopathy is a natural form of medicine that uses immeasurably small doses of medicines to stimulate the body’s own defense and healing process. Homeopathy focuses on bringing the entire body back into homeostasis, or balance. Homeopathy is an effective form of medicine that works on both physical, mental and emotion complaint’s simultaneously.

Bach Flower Remedies

Bach Flower Remedies and Essences gently restore the balance between mind and body, allowing nature the opportunity to help us rediscover the positive side of ourselves and live emotionally healthy lives.

The therapeutic value of the Bach essences lies not in curing the physical symptoms of illness but in addressing the emotional state of the sufferer, wherein lie the roots of illness – this was Dr Bach’s central message.

Iridology is the study and analysis of the iris, or the colored part of the eye, which practitioners believe can reveal information about a person’s overall health and/or tendencies toward disease. Iridology is not used to diagnose; however, practitioners utilize the technique to better determine a client’s health, lifestyle and nutritional needs.

Nutrition

Nutritional Therapy is the therapeutic use of food and nutrients to bring about positive changes to health and well-being.

This being said, it stands to reason then that if we are to grow, repair and maintain the body, we need to provide it with the optimal and most nutritious foods.

Each day people learn more about nutrition from the television, newspapers, radio, books and the Internet and sorting out the truth can be challenging to even the most savviest of consumer.

This is where a consultation with Kristy can help you better understand the information out there about nutrients, vitamins, antioxidants, phytochemicals and the like and how they can benefit your health.

Everyday, several times a day, you make food choices that influence your body’s health for better or for worse. Each days choices may benefit or harm your health only a little, but when these choices are repeated over years and even decades, the rewards or consequences become major. That being the case, close attention to good eating habits now can bring health benefits later.

Although most people realize that their food habits affect their health, they often choose food for other reasons. After all, food brings to the table a variety of pleasures, traditions, and associations as well as nourishment. The challenge, then, is to combine favourite foods and fun times with a nutritionally balanced diet.

Conditions assisted by nutritional therapies:

  • Hyperglycemia and Diabetes
  • Digestive complaints
  • Poor energy and fatigue
  • Weight loss
  • Hormonal imbalances
  • Inflammatory disorders e.g arthritis
  • Skin complaints
  • Food sensitivities
  • Stress and mood disorders
  • ADHD and spectrum disorders
  • Natural fertility preparation (male and female)

What can I expect from a consultation?

  • a detailed case history
  • a review of your current diet
  • a tailored nutritional program to suit your needs and objectives; this may included diet changes as well as suggested supplementation.

Counselling

Why see a counsellor?

People seek counselling for a variety of reasons, including:

Stuck in repetitive and unhelpful patterns

Anxiety

Depression

What does Counselling offer?

Counselling offers a confidential, supportive and non-judgemental environment where Kristy can help you explore what is troubling you.

Counselling can comfort and support; offer clarity when things feel confusing; challenge old behaviours that hinder rather than help you; reveal unconscious processes and facilitate greater understanding of yourself.

Kristy draws on several models and therapeutic approaches including person centred, Gestalt and humanistic therapies just to name a few. This enables Kristy to tailor an approach to best meets your unique needs.

Some of the issues Kristy has had particular experience in are relationship issues; understanding and changing behaviour patterns.

Kristy is committed to supporting and guiding you on your journey to enable greater depth of understanding, choice and inspiration.

What is a session like?

The initial session, as well being an opportunity to begin talking about what is troubling you, is also an opportunity to meet each other and to see if Kristy is the right therapist for you.

Kristy will take notes and ask questions, to get an idea of how best she can help you. Similarly, Kristy will be happy to answer any questions you may have.

If you decide to work with Kristy, it would be agreed for how long. It may be for a fixed number of sessions or it may be decided to be more open-ended. Sessions would then be at a regular time and place once a week.

A session can often look like two people having a conversation. However, a counsellor is trained to listen to what is being said and not being said in a very different way to how friends and family listen.

Occasionally, other ways of working can also be helpful for example, meditation and relaxation techniques, guided visualisations, or role-play. Your safety, dignity and autonomy will be respected at all times.
